Theoretical Physics
The department of theoretical physics at KTH (below: Theoretical Physics) was found when Lamek Hulthén became professor in "tillämpad matematik II" in the year 1949.
Between the years 1993 and 2005 Theoretical Physics belonged to the department of physics.
From January 1, 2006, Theoretical Physics is again its own department. At present, professor Olle Edholm is the head of department and the department is active in three research areas: biophysics, particle and mathematical physics, as well as condensed matter physics.
